Acai bowls are my favorite! Whenever I get together with my girlfriends – not for smoothies, breakfast, brunch or lunch – it’s acai bowls! In fact, a few years ago, we challenged ourselves to find the best local acai bowls. We ate at 10 different smoothie/acai places – my challenge. My conclusion – the “Beach City Bowl” of Beach City smoothies in downtown Carlsbad – if you happen to be in the area 😉. My Mango Acai Bowl recipe below is my favorite version.

I love the acai bowl because it’s not like a smoothie that makes you crave something – it fills you up, satisfies and delights you. In fact, I have a friend who makes a homemade acai bowl for her daughter every morning and packs it in a disposable bowl with a lid – how fun is that?
